-Spoilers for Season 2, Hidden Inventory- I enjoyed Jujutsu Kaisen a lot when I first watched it years ago, but now that I'm reading it again it seems far from the masterpiece that many people describe it as. I feel like it could have developed into something great, but it didn't. It's just ok, and it's a bit disappointing. Except for some good parts (like the Junpei and Mahito arc or most of Hidden Inventory, which I liked for the good interactions and development) it feels not so fleshed out and kind of empty. To me it feels like the author wants to express many things but gives up in the process or fails to deliver them. I'm sad that many characters don't even feel like real characters with their own personalities and they too often don't have serious interactions that make it feel like there are in real relationships. One of the themes or plot points I would have liked seeing was Gojo's plan for changing the Jujutsu society, it felt like rebuilding the corrupted society was going to be a big point of the story, but apparently I was wrong. Another interesting one could have been if Riko kept on living as a normal girl, instead of being killed right after she made that decision, and if we saw how it would affect the characters and story. Alternatively, seeing the real consequences of what would actually happen to Tengen if Riko was killed and there was no other plasma vessel (sorry, but saying "don't worry, actually there was another one" after all that had happened is just stupid). As Jujutsu Kaisen is now, I still enjoy some parts of it but it definitely has flaws. I'd come back to it again for the good moments and fights and for the great animation and music in the anime. I still like to think what this manga could have been like if it all things were explored better. I enjoy drawing stuff about it and its characters. I'd like to give my own reinterpretations and maybe I'll make some stuff out of them someday.
