I'm happy to present to you the first transmission of the Vocaradio! Since Vocaloid was published, lots of voicebanks have been created, sometimes with their own mascots, and there are potentially infinite Vocaloid songs! The most well-known Vocaloid is definitely Hatsune Miku. With her long turquoise twintails, she's easily recogniseable even by those who don't know Vocaloid. Today, why don't we listen to some of the early songs that were created using her?
Let's start with the short "01_ballade" by Eiji Hirasawa.
This is Hatsune Miku's first demo song. There's a full version called "Star Frangment" which was later made, but you can also find unofficial extended versions of the original demo (its lyrics consisted in only five lines). One interesting thing: the author had never wrote lyrics before!
Let's go on with "White Letter" by GonGoss.
If we only count fan songs, then this is the first original Hatsune Miku song. It seems that the original title was "I composed a song with the theme "a letter falls from the sky"" and was then changed to the current title after a viewer suggested it. Miku finds a letter and opens it but... there are no words! Even then, it seems like she can read the message and starts looking for something. There is also a beautiful anime PV version.
Next is a song by OSTER Project: "Voc@loid in Love".
This song, along with "Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru" and "Packaged", had a big influence on Vocaloid producers, contributing to the development of Miku's personification in the fandom. There are two versions which were uploaded on the same day, the most popular is the second, modified version. This songs also has a special PV made for Miku's birthday in 2009.
Finally, we have "Koneko no Payapaya" by Onecup-P.
Other than Miku, MEIKO is also featured. The song's theme is really simple: it's about a cute white kitten called Payapaya with a blue eye and a green eye. A higher quality remix of the song has been featured in Project mirai.
With this song we end today's transmission, check out some other songs by the artists if you liked these ones. hope you enjoyed your time here and that you will come back to listen to the Vocaradio!
